Ted Cruz Launches Powerful New Campaign Ad

Republican presidential candidate U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), seeing his lead in Iowa slipping, has launched a new TV ad in the first-in-the-nation caucus state.

The 30-second spot, titled “Have Your Back,” highlights Cruz’s promise, made during last week’s debate televised by FOX Business Network, that as president, he would ensure America would once again lead from a position of strength. It also makes the connection between the weakness of the Obama/Clinton foreign policy and the recent illegal capture of U.S. sailors by Iran:

“If I’m elected president, no serviceman or servicewoman will be forced to be on their knees, and any nation that captures our fighting men and women will feel the full force and fury of the United States of America,” he said. “I will have your back.”

The ad reinforces the Cruz campaign’s contention that in a Cruz administration, Americans will have a Commander-in-Chief who will stand strong in defense of our nation and the men and women in uniform. In a statement announcing the ad’s release, the Cruz camp stated, “Our allies will once again have confidence that we have their backs and our enemies will know the consequences of their actions.”
