The liberal mainstream media has made a big deal of the Bush family’s reluctance to support Donald Trump, as well as the small group of former Bush administration officials who have publicly supported Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.

But a new group turns that narrative on its head.

The Bush Alumni Coalition, which was launched this week, is a group of more than 50 former Bush appointees who have announced their endorsement of Trump for president. The group is led by of former Attorney General John Ashcroft, former Education Secretary Bill Bennett, former Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, former Treasury Secretary John Snow, and former Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson.

They drafted a letter of endorsement that reads:

“We, the undersigned, citing the need for bold leadership, a strong national defense, sound economic policy and a Supreme Court committed to preserving the freedoms framed in the Constitution, launch this coalition of former Cabinet officials, Presidential Appointees and campaign alumni of the George H.W. and/or George W. Bush Administrations … we commit our support for Republican Presidential Nominee Donald J. Trump and Governor Mike Pence for President and Vice President of the United States.”

Other members of the coalition include former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, former White House political director Matt Schlapp, former Veterans Affairs Secretary Anthony Principi, and former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer. Click here to see the complete list of endorsements.

“Americans want to trust our leaders again, to know that they are fighting for everyday Americans by creating jobs, growing our economy, defending our nation from terrorism, and respecting the voters enough to be straightforward and honest with them,” said Thompson, who also formerly served as governor of Wisconsin. “Donald Trump and Mike Pence will put America first, and make our country great again.”
