Obama Sang ‘Amazing Grace’ the Same Day He Lit the White House with an LGBT Rainbow

Last Friday, Barack Obama was in two of the most viral political stories of the month. Though the two could not be more contradictory, no one seemed to pick up on the tension. During the day, he attended the funeral of the South Carolina state Senator Clementa Pinckney, the minister who was shot down in cold blood inside his Charleston AME church during a Bible study, with his assistant pastor and seven others, by a racist gunman. In the midst of his eulogy, he launched out into a rendition of “Amazing Grace,” bringing mourners to their feet, waving their hands and joining in. Obama’s vocal technique on the classic hymn is…shaky. (He does a better Al Green. Probably had more practice.)  But since Obama once said that the Muslim call to prayer is “one of the prettiest sounds on earth,” we may have different musical tastes. That morning, the Supreme Court legalized gay “marriage” in all 50 states, and Obama – the selfie president – saw another opportunity to trend on Twitter. He lit the White House with colored bulbs to make it reflect the LGBT “rainbow” flag – something he never did with the American flag on the Fourth of July. Actually, the rainbow lighting plan was arranged by Valerie Jarrett, Obama’s alter ego, as well as Jarrett’s LGBT liaison in the Office of Public Engagement Aditi Hardikar, and Michelle Obama crony Tina Tchen. “It’s a great idea if you can get it to work,” President Obama told Valerie. Obama called the decision “a victory for America.” He previously said he changed his mind on gay “marriage” because of the Golden Rule. In the same day, the president of the United States extolled God’s grace and mercy over the body of a slain man of the cloth and then praised conduct that God describes as an “abomination.” This reminds us of the verse: “A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit” (Matt. 7:18). It also brings to mind what the Apostle James wrote: “Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh” (James 3:10-12). Since that is not the case, there is one test to determine the heart: “By their fruits ye shall know them” (Matthew 7:16). Obama’s fruits are clear. But there is another inspection necessary: No one else seems to have noticed these two viral developments conflict with one another in any way. That is the scariest realization of all.
