Following recent reports that President Donald Trump berated Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas during their recent meeting in Bethlehem, Abbas has purportedly conceded the encounter with Trump was “uncomfortable” and Trump was “angry” with him.

According to Israel’s Channel 2, Trump yelled at the PA leader for his direct involvement with incitement against Jews. Palestinian officials at first denied Trump’s outburst, but the London-based Al-Araby Al-Jadid newspaper quoted a senior Palestinian source as corroborating the initial report on Trump’s anger.

The PA leader’s admission came during a PLO executive committee meeting, at which Abbas divulged details of his meeting with Trump, saying the U.S. president showed him videos of [Abbas’s] incitement, including one in which Abbas stated, “We incite and the Israelis incite.”

Abbas purportedly told Trump the videos were taken out of context and were doctored by Israel, insisting Trump have CIA agents analyze the footage.

During the PA president’s first meeting with Trump at the White House May 3, Trump pressed Abbas to stop incitement and terrorism and to end the PA’s policy of paying salaries to Palestinian terrorists and their families.

In a joint press conference following their White House meeting, Abbas told Trump the Palestinians “are raising our youth, our children, our grandchildren on a culture of peace.”

In September 2015, prior to an uptick in Palestinian terrorism, Abbas saluted Palestinians carrying out terror attacks in Jerusalem, stating, “Every drop of blood that has been spilled in Jerusalem is holy blood as long as it was for Allah…and everyone wounded will be rewarded.” {eoa}
