White House to Schools: Affirm Students’ Preferred Transgender Pronoun

School teachers who refuse to refer to boys as “she” and girls as “he” will now be investigated by the Trump Administration, following the introduction of a new transsexual policy.

An internal memo released by the U.S. Department of Education states that the Federal Government may investigate taxpayer-funded schools for “refusing to use a transgender student’s preferred name or pronouns”.

The policy has been heavily criticized for pushing a pro-trans agenda and violating free speech.

Violation

The memo was written by Candice Jackson, President Trump’s acting assistant secretary for civil rights.

The Department of Education could send investigators to any schools deemed to be in breach of the policy to determine whether a failure to use the preferred pronoun has created “a hostile environment”.

Mat Staver, founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel, said: “Requiring false pronoun usage by teachers is a compelled speech violation for teachers, and compelling students to participate in a lie violates their right to free speech.”

Compelled Speech

Laurie Higgins, Cultural Affairs Writer for Illinois Family Institute, said: “Using grammatically correct personal pronouns does not constitute harassment and does not create a hostile environment no matter how much trans students may dislike the practice.”

“All students have a sex, and that sex never changes. Personal pronouns correspond to and denote sex—not subjective, internal experiences or preferences,” she added.

The Trump administration had rescinded other pro-trans guidance, which forced federally-funded schools to endorse transsexualism earlier this year.

Former President Barack Obama ordered last year that schools must let transsexual pupils use the toilets, changing rooms and showers of their choice or face serious cuts in funding. {eoa}
