This Simple Gesture by the President Has the Internet Abuzz

Even CNN will allow President Donald Trump to have a moment of humility without trying to twist into something sinister.

In the video clip above, which now has the internet abuzz, the president had just returned to the U.S. from the G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany, aboard Air Force One and was preparing to board Marine One for the ride back to the White House when he noticed one of the Marine guards stationed near the entrance to the helicopter had lost his cover. The “prop wash” from the helicopter’s spinning propeller had blown it off.

The president retrieved the hat, put it on the Marine’s head and gave him a pat on the shoulder, only to see the hat blown off again.

Some would just give up at that point, but the president walked over and grabbed the hat a second time and handed it to the Air Force officer who was escorting him before boarding Marine One. The Marine who lost his cover remained at his post, as he was trained to do but was unable to render a salute to his commander in chief without it.

Marines volunteer for this job, and must meet very strict qualifications to be accepted. Reportedly, thousands have volunteered for the honor of serving this president. {eoa}
