This City Council Member Could be Prosecuted for Upholding Biblical Marriage

First the Lifestyle Left reappropriated the symbol of the rainbow. Now, it’s threatening to prosecute a city council member for daring to point the fact out. On Tuesday, the Newport Beach, California, City Council voted 4-3 to condemn an e-mail sent by Councilman Scott Peotter. His offense? He pointed out that the rainbow had been instituted by God after Noah’s flood as a sign that He would never again flood the earth (Genesis 9). The LGBT movement co-opted the symbol of God’s grace and patience to advance the agenda of Sodom and Gomorrah. Peotter thought this was wrong, and wrote about the fact following the Supreme Court’s decision redefining marriage in June. Now, he may pay the price. City Councilman Keith Curry had pushed for a censure – but he also wants to refer Peotter to the District Attorney for possible prosecution, because Peotter’s e-mail contained a picture of the City Seal in the background. Why stop at prosecution? For an incorrigible like this, he obviously needs full re-education. “It is alarming that some politicians and activists now believe that expressing support for traditional marriage should be prosecuted,” said Brad Dacus, the president of the Pacific Justice Institute.  “This situation should be a wake-up call to all Americans.  We face an ominous future of further repression, coercion, and censorship unless we speak and act now in defense of our constitutional freedoms.”
