One of the national co-chairs of U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz’ presidential campaign was named Wednesday as chairman of a House of Representative’s task force that will look into executive overreach by President Obama.

“I’ve look at it as a restoration of Article I authority,” U.S. Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) said prior to the formation of the task force. “I am an originalist. I believe that the text of the Constitution has to be understood to mean what it was understood to mean at the time of its ratification.”

In addition to King, the following members of the House Judiciary Committee will serve as members of the task force:

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) – Chairman

Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.)

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.)

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas)

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio)

Rep. Ted Poe (R-Texas)

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah)

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.)

Rep. Raul Labrador (R-Idaho)

Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.)

Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.)

Rep. Mike Bishop (R-Mich.)
