Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and other current members of Congress have an important message they wish to share with pastors around the country this Friday.

In a video invitation shared by David Lane of the American Renewal Project, Gingrich urged pastors to join him in discussing how to put pressure on Congress to override President Obama’s veto of a bill to defund Planned Parenthood. Obama vetoed the legislation last week, and an override vote is planned for Jan. 26.

“It won’t be easy. We need two-thirds of the House of Representatives to support ending the barbaric practices of Planned Parenthood,” Gingrich said. “On Friday’s pastor conference call, we’d like to discuss with you how we can put pressure on every single elected official to vote with us.”

Gingrich will be joined by U.S. Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) and Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) on the 2:15 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time conference call. Additional details are available at defundtoday.com.

“I want you to know that I believe, strongly, no taxpayer should ever be asked to pay for this kind of horrible, barbaric behavior. And America as a country shouldn’t allow babies to be cut up and their parts to be sold,” Gingrich said. “This is an important moment, you have an important role to play, and I hope you will join us on Friday for this very important conference call.”
