President-Elect Trump: ‘We Are Going to Bring Our Country Together, All of Our Country’

Thursday night, President-elect Donald Trump launched his “USA Thank-You Tour” in Cincinnati, Ohio, with a rally at U.S. Bank Arena.

Right out of the box, he struck a tone similar to the one he used on the campaign trail, stating that while America has “many problems” to be fixed, he knows if the nation can set aside its individual differences, it can solve those problems quickly. America won’t remain divided long, he added.

“We are going to bring our country together, all of our country,” he said. “We’re going to find common ground, and we will get the job done properly. We’ll get it done, no problem, and so importantly, America will start winning again.”

To succeed, the nation must “enlist the effort of all Americans,” the president-elect added. He said the entrenched government establishment has, for too long, tried to “put us in boxes,” separating Americans by race, by age, by income, by geography, by place of birth.

“We spent too much time focusing on what divides us,” he said. “Now is the time to embrace the one thing that truly unites us. You know what that is: America. Because when America’s unified, nothing is beyond our reach.”

Trump did take time to mock the “extremely dishonest” liberal mainstream media for downplaying his chances. He also took some shots at independent conservative candidate Evan McMullin, noting he, not McMullin, also won in Utah.

But much of his speech was meant to be a thank-you message to the people of Ohio, who, he said, “propelled to victory a grassroots movement the likes of which the world has never seen before.” {eoa}
