Why Are Christian Cathedrals Opening the Door for Muslim Prayers to a Different God?

The islamic call to prayer
Share:

At a time when radical Islam is rapidly rising, what is possessing Christian cathedrals and chapels to allow Muslims—however peaceful in appearance—to hold prayer meetings in their sanctuaries? Why in the world would Christian leaders think it’s OK to open their doors to false-god worship?

I wasn’t all that surprised when the Washington National Cathedral hosted its first-ever Muslim prayer service in November, given its move to allow a transgender priest to preach there. But my jaw dropped when I heard Duke University, a Methodist school, scheduled an “adhan,” or call to prayer for Jan. 16. This adhan is an Islamic chant that includes the words “Allahu Akbar,” which means “God is great!'” The problem is: It’s not the same God we serve.

Duke quickly backpedaled after Franklin Graham lifted his voice against Duke’s self-proclaimed move toward unity, which apparently caused hundreds of the school’s financial supporters to push back—and hard. Graham exposed Islam as anything but a peaceful religion.

“As Christianity is being excluded from the public square and followers of Islam are raping, butchering and beheading Christians, Jews and anyone who doesn’t submit to their Sharia Islamic law, Duke is promoting this in the name of religious pluralism,” Graham wrote on Facebook. After Duke reversed its decision, Graham told The Charlotte Observer, “It’s wrong because it’s a different god. Using the bell tower, that signifies worship of Jesus Christ. Using (it) as a minaret is wrong.”

The Underground Jihad Is Rising

Duke may have lacked discernment, but make no mistake. The Muslims behind this move toward unity know exactly what they are doing. Back in 2007 I penned an investigative report about radical Islam called “Underground Jihad.” Radical Islam’s agenda is clear: dominion by any means necessary. But it is critical to understand that there are two types of jihad.

As I learned back in 2007, one approach to carrying out this so-called “holy war” is bent on aggressive moves to destroy America, a nation also known among Islamic extremists as the “great satan.” This type of jihad produces sickening displays of hatred for Jews and Americans through Hamas-produced propaganda. Case in point: the rise of television programs starring Mickey Mouse characters scripted to brainwash Muslim children with anti-Zionist dominion mindsets in the name of Allah.

The second type of jihad is marked by a slow and steady cultural change of which the end result is global Islamic rule, less noticeable but just as dangerous. That’s what we are seeing at the National Cathedral, Duke University and other arenas.

“There is evidence upon evidence that the Islamic world—a world that is internally divided into various sects that fight among themselves over interpretations of the Quran with its inherently hateful message—is making inroads into the United States of America,” I wrote nearly eight years ago. “There is further proof that the U.S. government is not only failing to eradicate terrorist cells from the land, but has opened the door for a subtle jihad to gain momentum through political correctness, tolerance and even taxpayer money.”

Patient Jihadis Laying Groundwork in America

To understand the difference between the militant jihadi and the patient jihadi, one has to pay close attention to the words of Abdurrahman Alamoudi, founder of the American Muslim Council, the American Muslim Foundation and the American Muslim Armed Forces and Veteran Affairs Council. Steven Emerson, an internationally recognized expert on terrorism and national security and best-selling author of several books on jihad, including Jihad Incorporated, testified before the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks that Alamoudi said this:

“I think our attitude toward America should change—we have a chance, in America, to be the moral leadership of America. The problem is when? It will happen, it will happen [Allah willing], I have no doubt in my mind, Muslims sooner or later will be the moral leadership of America. It depends on me and you, either we do it now or we do it after a hundred years, but this country will become a Muslim country. And I [think] if we are outside this country we can say ‘Oh, Allah destroy America,’ but once we are here, our mission in this country is to change it.”

That proposed change is a shift from the Ten Commandments and Christ’s law of liberty—a law that commands the hearer to love his neighbor as he loves himself—to murderous Sharia Law. Sharia Law is derived from the Quran and the Hadith (traditions related to the words and deeds of Muhammad) and Muslims believe it expresses the highest and best goals for all societies as the will of Allah. These laws state, for instance, that if a thief is caught his hand must be chopped off. Highway robbers are crucified or mutilated. Adulterers are stoned to death. And Muslim critics are executed.

Where Do We Go From Here?

There are far too many examples of the subtle jihad to spell out in any one article, but there are some conclusions we can draw about Islam’s success infiltrating the U.S. culture. There are four roots: fear, political correctness, multiculturalism and ideological empathy for a “false underdog.”

All of the above are causing U.S. authorities to adapt to Islam at the expense of other religions. Muslims are portraying themselves as victims—and there are peaceful Muslims who, as Franklin Graham says, just want to live in safety—but some who appear to be peaceful Muslims are actually perpetrators. These jihadi Muslims believe that everyone started out as a Muslim, but that Jews and Christians were corrupted.

So where do we go from here? In 2007, before the rapid rise of radical Islamic groups like ISIS and Boko Haram, I wrote:

“The only hope for the Western world lies in the body of Christ, for it is far too late to assume that U.S. troops, which are stretched thin attempting to establish democracy in foreign lands, can rally against ‘martyrs’ carrying suitcase bombs that can kill millions of people in the blink of an eye.”

Saints, it’s time to wage war in the spirit against this ancient behemoth that has mounted an antichrist campaign to eradicate the gospel from the earth. Yes, we need to pray—but we need to do more than pray. We need to get busy being the church, labor to bring in the harvest and reject any compromise of God’s Word in our lives. Please hear me. Wake up. It’s worse than you can see with your natural eyes. The time is short. Amen.
