Pat Robertson: Facebook Should Create a ‘Vomit’ Button for Same-Sex Kissing Photos

In case you haven’t noticed, gay kissing photos are all over Facebook—and some of them are even going viral.

Philip Bonneau recently made headlines for “transforming the upside down kiss that Spiderman (Toby Maguire) shares with Mary Jane (Kristen Dunst) in Spiderman in 2002 into something with gay flair,” ProjectQAtlanta.com reports. The image turns my stomach, yet it stared millions of Facebookers in the face in June.

(Why is the gay agenda focusing so much on Spidey, by the way? Yesterday, Andrew Garfield, the actor who starred as the superhero in The Amazing Spider-Man, asked why the tights-wearing superhero couldn’t be into guys instead of girls.)

Also in June, a photo of models Georgina Wilson and Isabelle Daza kissing went viral via Instagram. The two women are in relationships with high-profile personalities. Wilson dates model Borgy Manotoc while Daza dates footballer Adrien Semblat. But their lesbian kiss surpassed the individual fame of the collective bunch. It reminds me of the infamous kiss between Madonna and Britney Spears at the MTV Music Awards—10 years ago—that also went viral.

Of course, nothing tops the viral power of the image of Marine Corps Sgt. Brandon Morgan, donning his military garb, jumping onto his boyfriend and laying an impassioned lip lock on him as he came home from the field. It landed on the “Gay Marine” Facebook page and made national headlines for weeks.

Christian televangelist Pat Robertson this week joked that he would like to see a “vomit” button on Facebook so he could respond to photos and updates like gay kissers. Of course, my headline was in jest. Facebook didn’t actually introduce a “vomit” button. And I wouldn’t suggest it does, but seeing immorality go viral—and immorality of any type, not just gay smooches—does turn my stomach. At the same time, I’m grateful for all the wonderful ministries that are making an impact on Facebook and other social media.
