The re-election of Benjamin Netanyahu as prime minister will not only be a blessing for the nation of Israel, Rabbi Curt Landry says. It also is giving the entire world a second chance to see how good God really is, and to turn to Him as their savior.
The founder and president of Curt Landry Ministries says that Israelis had an opportunity to see what life was like on the other side without Netanyahu at the helm, and the picture wasn’t so rosy after he was defeated in 2019. But after five elections in four years, Netanyahu regained control last week but what could be termed as a landslide, signaling Israelis’ desire to return to a more stable form of government than implemented by his predecessors, Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid.
“The election of Benjamin Netanyahu is such a hopeful thing,” Landry said on a recent episode of the Charisma News Podcast. “We need to not only understand what it means, but what God is saying through this process. We need good news right now, and this is certainly good news.
“Basically, there was the pandemic, and then there came an antichrist spirit, something that was against the ways of God. I think we have to realize that there is an authoritarian world view that seeks to deconstruct the foundations of the Judeo Christian faith—this antichrist spirit—and not just in the United States but around the world. It seeks to work its overwhelming power to overthrow those that do not adhere to their ideology.
“I like what former UN Ambassador to Israel, Danny Danon, a great man, said the other day, ‘Finally, Israel is returning to sanity.'”
What does it all mean? Landry says he wasn’t surprised when Netanyahu was removed from power three years ago. Israelis, he said, were deceived into a liberal mindset and wanted to embrace the “diversity” culture. But, as he says, things began to deteriorate fast with a weakening of Israel’s military, its economy and safety.
“When your opposition is not intimidated by you because you don’t have the freedom to respond immediately to terrorism, what happens is that terrorist spirit knows that you’re weak and that weakness creates an atmosphere for attack,” Landry says.
“With this election, people were afraid to voice their opinion that they were moving back to the right. A lot of people didn’t see it coming because of that. They didn’t feel safe, and they wanted to feel safe. I hope the US is listening to this. What happened in Israel is that people said, we want our safety back. … The biggest thing for Netanyahu is that he was going to protect the people. He was a soldier, special forces and a war hero. He knows that Israel must have a strong military, a strong economy and Israel to be a strong influence on the world scene. … Israel has overcome and is getting a second chance, and I think you’re going to see drastic changes happen immediately. With the Iranian threat running rampant into nuclear capabilities, all will be shut down in the next 60 days. The world is getting a second chance.”
A Messianic Jew, Landry says that Christians must begin “walking in the freedom that Jesus paid the price for.” And, he said in a prophetic word, Jesus has “blessed us to dream.”
“We have to make it our No. 1 goal to seek first the kingdom and his righteousness,” Landry says. “Then, we will have protection, provision and safety. God says, “I know you’re hurting. I know you’re suffering. But I also know that you’re spiritual and want spiritual results. Many of you are wounded because you’ve had people tell you spiritual things that were almost guarantees, and it didn’t work for you. I want to tell you don’t give up on prayer, don’t give up on tithing … just don’t give up. This has to be a time of renewing your mind by the washing of water by the Word. It’s time to totally sell out and trust God.” {eoa}
