Secularism Will Kill America Unless We Do This

Newt Gingrich posted a seven-minute video hailing Donald Trump's Gettysburg speech and call for bolder, audacious reform of the corrupt federal government. Trump brought forward a groundbreaking first 100-days pledge. A few of Trump's proposals include:

FIRST: a constitutional amendment to impose term limits on all members of Congress

SECOND: a hiring freeze on all federal employees to reduce federal workforce through attrition (exempting military, public safety, and public health)

THIRD: a requirement that for every new federal regulation, two existing regulations must be eliminated

FOURTH: a five-year ban on White House and Congressional officials becoming lobbyists after they leave government service

FIFTH: a lifetime ban on White House officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government

SIXTH: a complete ban on foreign lobbyists raising money for American elections

Gingrich diagnosed the impending threat to America:

"To my fellow Republicans who say they are 'Never Trump,' that means functionally that you are always Hillary. She is dishonest, she is corrupt, and she will complete the process that Obama has started of turning America into a country like Venezuela.

"A country where there is no rule of law. A country where corruption is rampant. If you doubt that, read all of the details to what the FBI has done under [FBI Director James] Comey and realize that when you start having the FBI being corrupted, then who's going to police the police? The fact is we are right on the edge of what I think is one of the most dangerous periods since the Civil War."

Exhibit I

Consider Bill Clinton's tête-à-tête with U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch on the tarmac in Phoenix Monday, June 27. This allegedly "I stumbled into" meeting with Lynch—amid an ongoing investigation into Hillary Clinton's missing emails and only hours before the public release of the Benghazi report—smacks of corruption and deceit. A local ABC affiliate camera crew caught the rendezvous; otherwise, no one would have known.

Let's be clear, "I stumbled into" the AG Lynch doesn't happen security-wise; there are too many procedures in place. Agents did a ton of work on this preplanned meeting. And since the meeting was prearranged, there was an agenda. Loretta Lynch said that they talked about the grandkids. My guess is that Bill Clinton advanced, "If you keep your head down, you can write your own ticket for the future. You want to be the longest serving AG in history? Fine. The first black woman nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court? Fine. As long as you look after our interest, we will look after yours."

Texas Senator John Cornyn, addressing the appearance of corruption, suggested that Loretta Lynch recuse herself from the missing email investigation and bring in a "Special Counsel." What a joke; this game is rigged. Take, for example, Justices Elena Kagan and Ruth Bader Ginsberg, who performed same-sex weddings before hearing the Obergefell vs. Hodges case, then disgracefully refused to recuse themselves.

By the way, how did Attorney General Lynch describe the tarmac meeting with Bill Clinton? She said, "He did come over and say hello, and speak to my husband and myself, and talk about his grandchildren and his travels and things like that."

Exhibit II

Consider the following Wall Street Journal article from Oct. 23—"Clinton Ally Aided Campaign of FBI Official's Wife: Group linked to Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe donated nearly a half-million dollars to 2015 state Senate candidate."

Here's the scoop:

Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe's political-action committee donated $467,500 to the 2015 state Senate campaign of Dr. Jill McCabe, who is married to Andrew McCabe, now the deputy director of the FBI.

The political organization of Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, an influential Democrat with longstanding ties to Bill and Hillary Clinton, gave nearly $500,000 to the election campaign of the wife of an official at the Federal Bureau of Investigation who later helped oversee the investigation into Mrs. Clinton's email use.

Campaign finance records show Mr. McAuliffe's political-action committee donated $467,500 to the 2015 state Senate campaign of Dr. Jill McCabe, who is married to Andrew McCabe, now the deputy director of the FBI.

Let's spell it out, Secularism is every bit as toxic to freedom in America in 2016 as socialism, totalitarianism or Nazism was to Germany in 1932. Secularism is going to kill liberty in America unless brought to a halt. Dr. Bruce K. Waltke, in his 2002 Christian Book of the Year, wrote:

"The serpent's final defeat under Messiah's heel (Genesis 3:15) is delayed to effect God's program of redemption through the promised offspring. In the interim, God leaves Satan to test the fidelity of each succeeding generation of the covenant people (Judges 2:22) and teach them to fight against untruth (Judges 3:2)."

Charles Spurgeon observed, "It is cowardly to shun the battle which God would have us fight. We had better face the danger, for we have no armor for our backs."

It's way past time for a Gideon or Rahab to make a stand.
