My Divine Appointment with Cecile Richards, Responsible for 3.5 Million Abortions

Forty-five years ago, upon hearing the Supreme Court decision to legalize abortion on demand in America, I wrote a tract titled “Is There Such a Thing as a Life Not Worthy to be Lived?” It was sent to every member of Congress. Shortly thereafter, I was asked to become a board member for the well-respected Intercessors for America ministry which, among other areas, remains resolute in protecting innocent, vulnerable unborn babies in the womb.

Last night, I continued to make my contribution to upholding the sanctity of human life as I “invaded” a special event at Nashville’s Vanderbilt University featuring Cecile Richards, the recently retired president of Planned Parenthood. She has a new book titled Make Trouble, and I couldn’t resist the strong prompting to put on my press badge and slip into the venue.

For those who have never been an observer at this type of “progressive, leftist liberal” event, I invite you to join me as I attempt to reconstruct the chilling and grievous experience.

All Hail ‘Queen Cecile!’

Approximately 300 people came out for the opportunity to personally hear from the just-retired and wealthy president of Planned Parenthood. The crowd was about 95 percent women. Paying about $35 enabled one to receive a copy of her new book, support Planned Parenthood and listen to “smooth as silk” for exactly one hour.

The security at the university was extremely tight. Bulletproof-vested police combed the lobby, and there were police dogs ready in case of a problem. It was made abundantly clear that there would be no pictures and no taping. Interaction was blunted, as only some written questions, submitted in advance, would be allowed.

Some women wore T-shirts with slogans emphasizing their steely feminism and support for Planned Parenthood. “I Stand with Planned Parenthood” cards were there for signing by those who wanted to align with “the most trusted health care provider in this country.” Safe-sex leaflets and free condoms were available, along with buttons to wear, one of which said, “Planned Parenthood Stands With a Day Without a Woman.” Dismemberment of innocent human lives was barely discernible as “health care services” were highlighted.

Securing in advance the support of intercessors, I made my way into the auditorium and situated myself in the first row, in the middle, only feet away from Cecile Richards. That was as close as I could get, but it gave me a front-row seat for the one-hour “seductive and chilling,” deceptive presentation from a woman for whom I pray as she continues to deceive millions.

So What Did She Say?

Ms. Richards is an attractive 60-year-old feminist who has a history of activism. Time magazine formerly honored her as one of the “100 Most Influential People in the World.” She acknowledges she had an abortion that was inconvenient for her at the time and her “greatest fear is that abortion could become a state issue” where some states could actually stand in the way of dismemberment and chemical poisoning of babies in the womb, even though she never puts it this way but instead repeatedly refers to “women’s health care” and “reproductive rights.”

She mentioned that her mother was a housewife until she “found the women’s movement.” Then, the family was part of the “Unitarian church where progressives could meet” there in backwards, conservative Texas.

Cecile got bit by the bug to engage in changing the world, and of course, that eventually led to her taking the presidency of Planned Parenthood. To rousing applause she stated emphatically, “I will be fighting for reproductive rights rather than selling tacos, even if I’m 80 in a nursing home!”

She states we are in a “terrible moment ” in our country with this current administration “trying to take away rights from everybody!” If she could solve any other problem it would be to “Get rid of the gun culture! We can do it! And teens organizing marches are leading the way!”

To listen to Cecile Richards, one would think that Planned Parenthood and its philosophy is the solution to the bulk of America’s problems. In her closing words, she emphasized the importance of “investing in the next generation with 4 million young people turning 18 every year” and “the days are numbered for those in power” who beg to differ with her.

She presents a glowing picture in which “99 million people visit their website” and even “FOX News had to admit they’re the most popular organization in the country.” She still remembers the day Obama called her to relay to her that he secured for her “payments for birth control” resulting in the “lowest rate of teen pregnancies in our history!”

Lies, Lies and More Lies

Sitting just feet away from this woman, I am convinced that she is absolutely convinced amidst her delusion. She is radically committed to investing in the next generation so Planned Parenthood’s schemes continue unabated. I believe she really believes this organization is primarily about health care for women, even when it flies in the face of reality.

Here’s the deal: The Planned Parenthood 2016-17 annual report documents that they performed over 320,000 abortions; 96 percent of their “pregnancy services” were abortions; 4 percent were devoted to prenatal services, miscarriage care and adoption referrals; and, for every adoption referral, they performed 82 abortions. According to LifeNews, 3.5 million babies were aborted under her tenure.

David Daleiden of the Center for Medical Progress that exposed Planned Parenthood’s harvesting of baby body tissue for cash, said recently, “Cecile Richards was the most devoted practitioner of Planned Parenthood’s ‘out of sight, out of mind’ mantra to cover up their barbaric abortion business from the public. … The secret is out that Planned Parenthood is a tax payer-sponsored crime syndicate of industrial-scale child killing, and even Cecile Richards can no longer put a friendly spin on it.”

Before we exited the auditorium, a woman whom I would deem a “divine appointment” secured a picture of the smoothly ushered-out Cecile Richards after her “performance.” She’s on a carefully orchestrated tour promoting her book, pushing her philosophy and piling on more money from the next city on the docket.

I also hope the reader identifies with my passion to protect unborn babies in the womb and will join me.

Remember what God tells us in sacred Scripture, “Open your mouth for the speechless in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy” (Prov. 31:8-9).

How can we do anything else?
