Listening to the Truth As Hollywood Tells Teens to ‘Come Out’

A scene from 'Love, Simon.'

Hollywood has done it again! Opening in theaters nationwide is the PG-13 gay romantic comedy, Love, Simon. This is the first major movie featuring a gay teen lead from any of the major studios.

To lure in young people, the posters feature the tagline, “Everyone Loves a Great Love Story.” They found a cutesy “looks a little bit like Justin Bieber” teenager who portrays a wholesome, young guy struggling with coming out to his family, his friends and schoolmates.

Shame on twice-divorced Jennifer Garner, supposedly a church going “Christian” in real life as well as a mother of three young, impressionable children of her own. She plays the perky “supportive” mom, never “judging,” only enabling her precious son in his happy-go-lucky, newfound alternative lifestyle.

Young Simon hooks up online with another closeted homosexual in his high school. After all the hilarious shenanigans unfold, the entire school turns out for a carnival to cheer on the recently outed gay guy awaiting his anonymous pen pal with whom he’s “fallen in love.”

USA Today had a very positive, half-page review of the film (March 14, 2018) by a gay guest columnist who mocked his own minister father, who he suggested sheltered him like the “Amish.” His article celebrated the film as ” an aspirational triumph,” allowing our boy lovers to “experience the fullness of who they are” and “help a new generation of LGBTQ youth take that first step…”

The reality is, this is more propaganda from Hollywood, which regularly condones practices God prohibits because they are destructive to His design for those He created, loves and gave His Son to redeem. How the movie moguls like to advance their “progressive” agenda that celebrates profanity, drug usage, fornication, adultery, nudity, homosexuality and sexual deviancy.

Consequences be ignored as new barriers are broken and “cutting-edge” comedies and dramas corrupt America’s morals and youth. The coarsening of our culture continues seemingly unabated. How we desperately need a spiritual awakening in the United States today!

Former Gay Teen Tells the Truth

When I was preparing the sections on homosexuality for our “Is Gay OK?” video and the Bullseye Challenge initiative (“Gay Children?” “Gay Christians?” “Transgenderism” and “AIDS, Gays and STDs”), I benefited greatly from input from my friend, Stephen Bennett. For over 18 years, he has served young men and women confused about their sexuality and seduced by the preponderance of LGBTQ propaganda in America today.

Stephen and his lovely wife, Irene, have two adult children. His personal testimony and ministry have liberated multitudes of young people being deceived by same-sex attraction and pop culture advocacy of homosexual practice.

Listen to his experience in this abbreviated format. May this help counter the avalanche of deceptive education and entertainment pushing our young people into gay, lesbian and transgender lifestyles today.

“For years, I believed the lie too, that I was born ‘gay.’ I was always told by my ‘gay’ friends, as well as society, that my homosexuality was unchangeable —just as one’s height or skin color [are]. I was told this was how God made me, and I just needed to accept the hand that I was dealt. Yet as much as I tried to accept this belief, deep inside my heart I knew something was wrong with me—desperately wrong.”
,
As an older teenager, Stephen finally “came out as a gay man” and was introduced to the “gay” bar scene. “I lived for the night. I began drinking heavily, started using cocaine and became dangerously sexually promiscuous. I also developed bulimia. Over the next 11 years, I would have more than 100 homosexual partners. Today, many of those men are dead from HIV/AIDS.”

Stephen shares today that a dear friend whom he hadn’t seen in years showed up unannounced one day at his apartment holding a Bible in her hand. Gently but honestly Kathy talked to him about her new life in Christ and challenged Stephen to look at what the Bible actually said about homosexuality. Reluctantly, he agreed.

“Kathy clearly showed me from the Bible how God did not make anyone ‘gay,’ and how no one was born homosexual. What shocked me the most was when she showed me how through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, homosexual men and women could in fact ‘change’—completely change (1Cor. 6:9-11).”

“I knew Kathy truly cared about me. I saw God’s view of my homosexuality in the Bible—clearly printed in black and white—with my own eyes! It was not Kathy’s opinion of my homosexuality, but literally God’s Word (2 Tim.3:16).”

Stephen wrestled with his inner challenge for a year and a half as he read the Bible and increasingly began to see his homosexuality as sin and himself as a sinner before a holy God.

After no longer being able to bear the guilt and shame he was feeling inside, or justify his homosexual lifestyle, he cried out to the Lord, “Jesus, please forgive me for my sins… Right now Lord, I ask you to come into my heart and life, to be my Lord and Savior. I agree Lord, my homosexuality is sin in Your eyes, but I can’t change on my own. I need You to do it! Jesus, please—I need you now more than ever! My life is no longer mine, Lord—it’s Yours!”

Stephen believes that for many individuals struggling with unwanted same-sex attractions, “coming out” of homosexuality is a process, and the time-frame of overcoming these unnatural and unchosen feelings can vary greatly. The starting point is to admit one’s sin, the truthfulness of God’s Word and to cry out to Him for freedom, deliverance and healing.

Out of Closet or Out of Deception?

Love, Simon: Everyone Loves a Great Love Story is a sham. It’s also another device of the devil to “steal, kill and destroy” (John 10:10) our children.

Here’s the Deal: The greatest love story is how God sent His Son to not only forgive our sins but to liberate us from sin’s power. Jennifer Garner and gang, please take your defiling propaganda elsewhere, ’cause we smell something rotten and refuse to let it seduce our kids.
