Did AI Predict That We’re Already Doomed?

Fear and consternation mixed with faith in the inerrancy of the Bible play a large role in how Christians view news that relates to the subject of the end times.

People scramble for answers outside the Bible and prayer about what exactly is going to happen, as if what God has provided is not enough to go on.

Now, Artificial Intelligence is weighing in on the exact nature on the end of the world.

Utilizing OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Fox News Digital “interviewed” the chatbot to see what scenarios it would come up with regarding the end of the world as we know it.

  • Climate Change

No surprise here.

Climate change, global warming, global cooling, climate alarmism, inadvertent climate modification, whatever people want to call the changing temperature on earth has been a doomsday topic for decades now.

As Fox News reported, “ChatGPT kicked off its grim predictions by speculating that climate change will have “catastrophic effects on the planet if not addressed,” pointing to how rising sea levels, extreme weather and food scarcity could lead to “widespread displacement, conflict, and instability.”

The book of Revelation tells how the earth will be affected during the end times and the Tribulation.

Rivers will dry up, animal and plant life will die, the earth will be devastated.

Many within the Christian community doubt these events will happen as the climate alarmists predict however, but will come about in God’s timing and in ways no one will be able to predict.

  • Nuclear Weapons

With the war between Ukraine and Russia bringing the possible use of tactical nuclear weapons to the front of the minds of many throughout the world, this is the scenario that ChatGPT referenced as its predicting factor.

While the chatbot admits the chances of this happening are low, there is a possibility of “geopolitical tensions and regional conflicts could potentially escalate and result in devastating consequences.”

Nothing groundbreaking there, but Christians know that the end of the world will include war, but will not be caused by nuclear annihilation.

  • Rise of Technology

This new area of the human existence is raising warning flags across the globe.

Industry leaders in technology have been coming out of the woodwork warning about the potential dangers of A.I. And as computer scientists and engineers keep barreling forward in A.I development, even the ChatGPT bot recognizes the danger that comes with it.

“The continued evolution of artificial intelligence and robotics also raises concerns about the potential impact on employment and societal structures,” ChatGPT said. “The automation of jobs could lead to significant economic and social disruption, potentially contributing to widespread unrest and instability.”

If everything becomes automated, putting people out of a job and looking for a “savior,” this could easily pave the way for the rise of the Antichrist who would swoop in and attempt to assume that role.

Compound this matter with customer services becoming fully automated, such as the purchasing of goods like food and medical necessities, and it becomes very easy to implement a system where one needs to scan a form of identification—like a mark of some kind, perhaps on the hand or even the forehead. (See Revelation 13:17, MEV.)

  • Pandemics

Christians appear to be much more prepared for how they will go about worshipping God and living their lives after the COVID pandemic.

According to ChatGPT, “The rapid spread of infectious diseases, particularly in a globally interconnected world, could lead to widespread illness, death and social and economic disruption.”

With millions around the world witnessing the rise of authoritarianism amidst the pandemic and how swiftly governments moved to shut down churches and houses of worship, there is a large amount of distrust for any pandemic in the future.

The threat of an outbreak far more severe than COVID is possible, however.

As the end times continues to be a topic of discussion for Christians and non-Christians alike, filling oneself with the knowledge of the Bible on the subject is a prudent course of action.

There is a treasure trove of information that brings with it wisdom and knowledge such as Matthew 24, Revelation 8, 13 and 16, just to name a few popular sections on the end times.

The A.I. did try to end the interview on a positive note however, saying:

“It’s possible that as a species, we will find solutions to these challenges and avoid their worst consequences. However, it’s critical that we take these threats seriously and work together to develop strategies to mitigate their impact and create a more sustainable and resilient world,” the bot concluded.
