Zona Hayes-Morrow, the daughter of Word of Faith pioneer Norvel Hayes, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday after a long cancer battle. She was 63.

Hayes-Morrow was a successful business woman, mother and Bible teacher. She served as the executive director of Norvel Hayes Ministries, the founder of Action Faith Ministries, director and dean of New Life Bible College, and the senior pastor of New Life Bible Church.

Hayes-Morrow had a tremendous testimony of how the Lord delivered her from numerous diseases, including lupus and kidney failure. She carried a burden to see God’s power set people free while meeting their needs. Her life is marked by faith in God and love for other people.

“Zona faced and overcame many battles. She was a fierce warrior, bold minister, compassionate leader and great friend. She was regarded by her Bible college students as a mentor and spiritual mother who saw and developed their potential,” says Ryan LeStrange, a close family friend of Hayes-Morrow’s, revivalist and founder of Ryan LeStrange Ministries.

“One of her favorite sayings was, ‘There are no throwaway people.’ She proudly carried the legacy and mantle of her father, Dr. Norvel Hayes; adored her only daughter, Lee; and enjoyed life with her husband, Terry Morrow.”

Hayes-Morrow’s desire drove her to build the Healing School at New Life Bible Church to help people receive their healing from God. She leaves a legacy of a ministry that refreshed many with a practical, clear, down-to-earth approach to the ways of God.

Her father, Norvel Hayes is a successful businessman, internationally renowned Bible teacher and founder of several Christian ministries in the U.S. and abroad.

Hayes founded New Life Bible College in Cleveland, Tennessee, in 1977, and New Life Bible Church eventually grew out of the Bible college’s chapel services. He spends most of his time teaching and ministering God’s deliverance and healing power in churches, college classrooms, convention centers and seminars all around the world.
