Most Christians in the U.K. have experienced the supernatural.

Roughly 65 percent of Christians in the United Kingdom have experienced the supernatural, new research reveals. What’s more is, of those, at least a quarter have witnessed it in the last week.

The research came in advance of Soul Survivor Mike Pilivachi’s new book, Everyday Supernatural

Premier reports:

  • Two in three (65 percent) said they had had a personal experience of the supernatural
  • More than half of those with an experience say it happened within the past year
  • One in four (24 percent) say they’ve had an experience within the past week
  • Only 5 percent do not believe in the supernatural
  • Two-thirds believe the supernatural may be caused by occult or evil forces as well as divine
  • Two in every three (68 percent) feel any over-emphasis on “miracles” gives Christians a bad name

“Of course the Holy Spirit is present and can inspire and guide us in our preparation, but, we suggest, there is something utterly biblical and excellently powerful in inviting Him to move upon us and then giving Him the space and time to do so. This involves an element of giving up control,” according to a Soul Surfer blog post.

“Throughout a meeting we are asking the Lord if there is anything He wants to say or do which is not part of our agenda. We also look at the congregation to see what the Father is doing. We are looking for indications that the Holy Spirit is touching people’s hearts, healing them or meeting with them in some other way,” the post continues.

Soul Survivor hosts annual conferences in the U.K. called “Naturally Supernatural.”
