Those close to Pope Francis say he is a simple man who will lead the Catholic Church with humility.

But what else is known about the new pontiff?

Dr. Vinson Synan, former dean of Regent University’s School of Divinity, had a chance to meet the new pope during a 2009 gathering of charismatic leaders in Buenos Aires.

He described the new pontiff as being a “wonderful Christian brother” who was very open to the charismatic renewal.
