*UPDATE: There are now seven victims listed as dead.

Chaos erupted in the streets of Jerusalem late Friday night, Israel time.

The shooting occurred at a synagogue in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood and is believed to be a terrorist attack.

As reported by The Times of Israel: “Officers called to the scene located and shot the gunman, police said. A handgun apparently used in the attack was seized.”

The police on the scene reported that the terrorists had arrived at the location via car, then opened fire outside of a building used by the synagogue.

The shooter was reported as “neutralized” after being shot by police at the scene. A handgun was recovered that was allegedly used in the attack.

Israel’s Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency rescue services listed several of the wounded as being in critical condition.

There is a reported search continuing for the driver and vehicle used in the deadly attack.

Pray for the victims, families and all of Israel during these times.
