Belgium is set to grant children the right to die this week.

The European country is one of the few countries where mercy killing is legal. Now it is expected to abolish age restrictions.

The Belgian Senate approved the euthanasia legislation in December.

The Belgian House of Representatives is debating the issue Wednesday and will likely approve it Thursday.

Three quarters of Belgians say it would be supportive of parents being able to euthanize their sick children without the child’s consent.
