As she did last Sunday evening, President Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, hosted a prayer call tonight for President Donald J. Trump, broadcast live on Facebook and YouTube and highlighted by a phone call from the president himself.

Tens of thousands participated on the live video prayer call, which featured prayers from presidential adviser Paula White Cain along with former baseball star and drug addict Darryl Strawberry, now an ordained minister; evangelist and television host James Robison; Daystar Television’s Joni Lamb; and Pastor Sam Rodriguez, president of the National Christian Hispanic Leadership Conference. At the close of the call, Lara Trump announced that similar prayer calls would continue up until the Nov. 3 presidential election: “We are going to do this every Sunday going forward … please tune in at 5 p.m., Team Trump online.”

In his phone call, the president thanked those watching for their prayers, calling this fall’s election “the most important election of our lives” and saying “the good news is I’m ready to go,” referring to his recent bout with COVID-19. He noted that his administration is working to bring the therapies he received to hospitals so others can benefit as well. He also thanked drug companies, scientists and doctors for their help and encouraged listeners that “we want to say an extra special prayer” for those families who have lost a loved one to the coronavirus, adding that in the fight against COVID-19, “We’re coming around that final turn.”

The president also took the opportunity to urge viewers to “make sure your vote counts,” saying, “We need that extra four years. … Get out and vote. Let’s make this even greater than 2016.”

Paula White Cain urged viewers to “bombard heaven” with their prayers, adding, “We know faith without works is dead, but we also know God hears and answers our prayers.” She passed the prayer baton to popular baseball star Daryl Strawberry, now known for speaking out in the war against drug addiction. Strawberry spoke a prophetic word over President Trump, calling him “a fighter” and encouraging him to be “strong and of good courage” (Josh. 1:9).

Pastor and evangelist James Robison also had some words of encouragement for the president, saying, “You and all of your family have actually shown us how to love our neighbor as ourselves. … You literally left your lifestyle, you left your comfort, to seek what was best not only for your family, your children and grandchildren but for my family, my children, my grandchildren and now great-grandchildren.” He said, “You really have proven that you know wisdom comes from above, and you want it, and you want what is best for every American.” Pointing to the president’s combative relationship with the secular media, Robison said people should see the “fake news” as “snake news” and be aware of the spiritual deception coming against him and his team.

Daystar Television co-founder Joni Lamb began her time of prayer by reading a few comments from praying viewers and noting that “People have been so fearful” through this season. Before she prayed, she read Scriptures that included Isaiah 41:10, Psalm 23: 4, Psalm 27:1 and what she said was her favorite, 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV): “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Her prayer included those affected by the pandemic in various ways: those who have lost jobs, children who haven’t been able to go to school and the many elderly who have been quarantined and alone.

Pastor Sam Rodriguez also had a powerful word for President Trump along with his time of prayer, saying “We stand at the precipice of an awakening that will lead to a revival that will lead to cultural reformation, where life is protected in the womb, where America will rise up to do justice, to love mercy.” He noted that “while the church is waiting for Jesus to come down, Jesus is waiting for His church to stand up. In this election, we will stand up,” Rodriguez said.

White Cain prayed a closing prayer, asking for angels to minister to the president and first lady and declaring victory over the president through the power of the spoken word. At the close of the call, Lara Trump returned to thank all those who prayed and make the announcement that the calls would continue each Sunday night at 5 p.m. Eastern.

Watch a replay of the entire call here and join the call again next week at Donald J. Trump Facebook or YouTube at 5 p.m. ET. {eoa}
