Editor’s Note: The church in question has no connection with Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, IL, pastored by Bill Hybels.

Tullian Tchividjian is now the director of ministry development at Willow Creek Church in Central Florida.

“We’re so delighted to welcome Tullian Tchividjian to the staff of Willow Creek Church,” reads the church website. “A graduate of Columbia International University (philosophy) and Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando (M.Div.), Tullian is a best-selling author, having written seven books on the gospel of Jesus Christ and its liberating implications.”

Tchividjian resigned as senior pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church earlier this summer after admitting to having an affair.

The South Florida Presbytery deposed Tchividjian of his pastoral credentials in August, but remained firmly committed to helping the former pastor.

“Our goal in doing this is to both protect the integrity of the Church from which his credentials were given while, at the same time, wrapping Tullian in the grace offered by Jesus Christ to all those who confess sin, pursue repentance and desire restoration,” reads the Presbytery statement, Charisma News previously reported.

The move to Willow Creek comes after Tchividjian filed for divorce from his wife, Kim.

Willow Creek is a Presbyterian church located in Winter Springs, Florida, just outside Orlando.

According to their website, the congregation’s mission is to glorify God by experiencing and expressing the liberating power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
