NHCLC President Rev. Sam Rodriguez became the first pastor and evangelical leader to appear in Latino Leaders Magazine‘s Top 101 Most Influential Latinos in America.

“Rev. Rodriguez uniquely raises a vision accentuated by the best of the faith expressions of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King (Jr.) and Rev. Dr. Billy Graham,” Dr. Albert Reyes, NHCLC board member and president and CEO of Buckner International said.

“Pastor Sam addresses issues in bipartisan fashion while speaking to the core issues of life and work facing the Hispanic community today. He is familiar with the ethos of Hispanic-Latino evangelicals in America and clearly speaks to the heartbeat of our community.”

Others listed in the feature from Latino Leaders Magazine were contemporary political figures Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Julian Castro as well as corporate leaders and cultural icons from the Latino community.

“The fiery, completely bilingual preacher of Puerto Rican origin has been active in politics, swaying the Hispanic evangelical vote in 2012 and some say he will do so again next year,” Latino Leaders Magazine said.

Latino Leaders Magazine is a semi-monthly publication with a circulation of over 200,000.

“Rev. Rodriguez’s influence has been felt from the church house to the White House,” NHCLC Vice President Rev. Tony Suarez said. “Rev. Rodriguez has spent his life investing in the Latino community, reconciling righteousness and justice, and serving with holiness and humility as he has advanced the Lamb’s agenda.”

The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC) is the world’s largest Hispanic Christian organization. It serves as a representative voice for the more than 100 million Hispanic evangelicals assembled in over 40,000 U.S. churches and another 500,000 congregations spread throughout the Spanish-speaking diaspora.
