Arvella Schuller, the wife of Robert H. Schuller, has gone home to be with the Lord. She was 84 years old. She passed away on Feb. 11 at UCI Medical Center after a short illness.

Arvella was instrumental in developing the music department at the Crystal Cathedral and in producing the Hour of Power television program for four decades.

“My heart is deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of my grandmother, Arvella Schuller,” says pastor Bobby Schuller. “She went to be with our heavenly Father this morning, dying peacefully of natural causes. She was the power behind the Hour of Power.

“Her music, vision and care for the message has touched countless hearts. This ministry is committed to carrying on the incredible movement she helped start with my grandfather many years ago to reach millions of hurting people with the positive message of God’s love. She will be missed.”

Schuller is survived by her husband; her son, Robert, and four daughters, Sheila Coleman, Jeanne Dunn, Carol Milner and Gretchen Penner; 19 grandchildren; and two sisters and a brother.
