The United States has become the great nation it is partly because it has welcomed immigrants from all over the world with open arms.

Legal immigration is wonderful and it benefits the newly commissioned Americans as well as established Americans. We are supposed to unite under the same constitution, bill of rights and become one nation under God.

When people enter the country illegally, things get more complicated. Now, the Biden administration is considering a move that would incentivize even more people to skip the line and enter illegally.

It wants to give reparations for families that have been separated at the border under former President Trump’s “Zero Tolerance” policy. Many of those families have sued the federal government.

While the American people, suffering under the lockdowns of the Coronavirus pandemic have received around $3,000 total, the Biden administration wants to give illegal immigrants that were separated at the border $450,000 each. That would mean 450,000 for each child, and 450,000 for the parents.

The payout for this could cost the American taxpayers over $1 billion, and has drawn the fire of lawmakers.

“It would be unthinkable to pay damages to a burglar who broke into your home for the ‘psychological trauma’ they endured during the crime, and yet the Biden administration wants to reward migrants who illegally entered our country with up to $450,000 each for just that reason,” Republican Sen. Tom Cotton (Ark.) says. “The Biden administration’s promises of citizenship and entitlement programs have already caused the worst border crisis in history—a huge cash reward will make it even worse. This is the height of insanity,” {eoa}
