RC Sproul Jr. Arrested, Charged With DUI

Days after he resigned his post at Ligonier Ministries, news broke that R.C. Sproul Jr. had been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.  

According to Indiana court records, Sproul Jr. was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a passenger under 18, endangering other people and operating a vehicle with a blood-alcohol level equal to or above .15.  

Misdemeanor charges were dismissed Dec. 5. A hearing scheduled for the felony charge is scheduled for February. 

The arrest records are dated Nov. 29. Sproul Jr.’s resignation from his father’s Ligonier Ministries was dated Dec. 9. 

“He is stepping away from his duties at the ministry and the college for personal reasons,” read the Ligonier Ministries’ board statement. 

“We support the Sproul family and give thanks for the many edifying contributions of Dr. Sproul Jr. over the years through his work at the ministry and the college. We believe he will be well cared for by his church during this time of transition, and we pray for him in his future endeavors,” the statement concluded. {eoa}
