Planned Parenthood to Close 3 Texas Clinics

Planned Parenthood announced this week that it will close three of its facilities in Texas.

The organization reportedly informed staff on Wednesday that it will close its clinics in Bryan, Huntsville and Lufkin.

The clinics are closing in response to a new law signed by Gov. Rick Perry Thursday that bars abortions after 20 weeks and requires clinics to meet hospital-grade health and safety standards. Planned Parenthood is the largest baby-killer in the U.S.

Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast President and CEO Melaney A. Linton attributed the clinic closures to the “increasingly hostile environment” Texas lawmakers have created for abortion mills in the state.

But Alliance Defending Freedom senior counsel Michael Norton disagrees.

“Planned Parenthood is more concerned with using American taxpayers’ dollars to pad its bottom line than providing competent healthcare to women,” he says. “We will continue to hold Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast and all other Planned Parenthood affiliates accountable for its fraudulent use of taxpayer dollars and hope that even more abortion clinics will soon close.”
