Pastor John Hagee’s Mother Passes at 98

Vada Mildred Hagee, mother of John Hagee, has gone home to be with the Lord. She was 98.

Hagee was born in Alice, Texas on May 29, 1913 to Charles Albert and Martha Swick. She died on April 30, 2012.

Hagee lived most of her early life in Goose Creek, Texas. After graduating from high school, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Theology from Southern Bible College which later became Southwestern Assemblies of God University.

She married William Bythel Hagee in 1933. Hagee and Bythel had four sons, William Bythel Hagee Jr., John Charles Hagee, Jack Thomas Hagee and Michael David Hagee.

Hagee was the church administrator for the three churches pastored by her husband in their 50 years of marriage; The First Assembly of God of Channelview, Texas and Houston, Texas respectively, and Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Hagee was preceded in death by her husband Bythel and is survived by her four sons and their wives, 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, May 6th in the Vada Hagee Prayer Chapel of Cornerstone Church at 18755 Stone Oak Parkway in San Antonio, Texas from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A memorial service, officiated by Pastor John Hagee, will immediately follow in the Main Sanctuary at 6:30 p.m. A graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 7th at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Avenue, Houston, Texas.

Memorial donations may be given to the Vada Hagee Scholarship Fund of Cornerstone Christian Schools.
