In a recent interview on Fox News’ “Life, Liberty & Levin,” renowned Pastor John Hagee voices concerns about the United States facing a terror attack similar to the recent Hamas attacks in Israel.

During the interview, Hagee, who leads the Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, and also serves as the founder and chairman of Christians United for Israel, emphasizes the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and the potential risks they pose to the United States.

Hagee makes it clear that he believes that reconciliation between the warring sides in the perpetual Middle East conflict is unlikely. He points to the recent outbreak of violence in Israel and Gaza, which began when Hamas launched terror attacks earlier this month.

Expressing his concerns, Hagee suggests that a scenario similar to the Oct. 7 attack in Israel could happen in the United States. He attributes the origins of this conflict to Iran, referring to them as the “masterminds” behind the war, and Hamas as the “ground troops.”

Hagee also highlights Iran’s derogatory references to the United States as “the great Satan” and Israel as “the little Satan.” He poses a question: “What is to stop Iran, those masterminds who planned that, from planning a similar plan for the United States of America and using the people who have come across our southern borders for a similar event to happen in this nation?”

Hagee further mentions the incident involving a Chinese spy balloon that traversed the U.S. earlier this year, suggesting that it may have provided information about U.S. military assets and bases.

Hagee’s concerns stem from the vulnerabilities that the United States faces, considering the hostile sentiments from countries like Iran and other U.S. adversaries.

Regarding border security, he references statistics from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, pointing out that 169 individuals on the Terrorist Screening Dataset were apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border in fiscal year 2023. He also notes a record number of encounters between illegal immigrants and law enforcement at the southwest border, exceeding the previous year’s figures.

In addition to these security concerns, Hagee addresses the core narratives in the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He pushes back against claims that the Jewish people are “occupying Jerusalem” and surrounding areas and that these lands “belong to Arabs and Palestinians.”

Hagee firmly states that these claims are false and that the land rightfully belongs to Israel, based on a biblical covenant. He emphasizes that this covenant is mentioned in the Bible over 20 times and has never been broken. According to Hagee, the land remains the property of the Jewish people, the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Hagee warns that the historical sites in Israel, some dating back to the time of Jesus Christ, could disappear if the state of Israel did not exist. He underscores the continuous archaeological discoveries that validate the presence of Hebrew rulers in the region for thousands of years.

He strongly rejects the idea of a two-state solution, stating that reconciliation between radical Islam and Judaism is unlikely. He draws a contrast between the values held by Hamas, which he describes as “people who worship death,” and the Jewish people, whom he characterizes as “people who pursue life.” {eoa}
