Pastor: Believers Need to Speak Up and Speak Out

Share:

Pastor Michael Anthony says reverse intolerance is all the rage in American society these days. If you’re a person of faith, be leery, because you’ve got a huge target on your back.

That’s what prompted Anthony, the pastor of Grace Fellowship church in York, Pennsylvania, to write his first book, A Call for Courage: Living with Power, Truth and Love in an Age of Intolerance and Fear. Anthony says it is time for believers to “learn how to speak the truth, stop waiting for the rapture as a divine bailout” and to “be salt and light in what has become a very distasteful, dark society.”

“We’re supposed to be God’s catalysts for change,” Anthony told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent edition of “Greenelines” on the Charisma Podcast Network. “Tolerance is actually an antithetical concept. I wrote this book to help people understand this pushback against people of faith, people who love the Bible, people who love the biblical Jesus. …

“We’re the ones being labeled as haters, and that’s completely intolerant; it’s reverse intolerance. I wrote this book as a manual to show people how to stand up and speak out, in love, in what has become a ‘sit down, shut up’ world for people of faith.”

Anthony says courage and humility are inseparable and that all believers need to develop the trait of what he calls “courageous humility” to exalt Christ and combat reverse intolerance in America.
