Miraculous Testimonies Pour in From Asbury University Revival

Share:

Over 100 hours at Hughes Auditorium have come and gone, and the heavenly worship is still sounding throughout the auditorium. The Asbury University revival is still underway and has spread to another building on campus.

On Wednesday, Feb. 8th, students at the university gathered together for another chapel meeting. What has transpired since that morning has been nothing short of a move of God.

Students walked in the doors, sat down in a pew expecting another service. By the end of chapel, it was clear this wasn’t just one of their normal mandatory meetings.

Local news outlets in Kentucky have reported on the revival as people carry in pillows and blankets just to stay in the presence of God.

The 1970 Revival

Fifty years ago, Asbury University experienced an eight-day-long revival where class were canceled for an entire week as students and faculty were transformed in the presence of God. It all started with one student saying he was ready to go all in for Jesus and invited other students up to the altar.

Reports came out of the 1970 revival that as testimonies were shared, more breakthrough came. The students would leave to take showers and rush right back to Hughes Stadium to continue worshipping and crying out to God. The fear of Lord was at the forefront of the revival, with a greater understanding of God’s power and holiness.

People were experiencing the manifest presence of God—and they are again today.

Testimonies Circulating Across Social Media

Posts have circulated across social media showing pictures of the scene of the revival as you drive near. People driving in their cars to go take part in the move of God see a large billowed cloud draped across the area.

One student shared they had been praying out of Exodus 40:34, “Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.”

One Asbury University student posted a video to share with his home church about what he’s experienced so far. He wrote: “They could see the cloud over our town. That’s just one of the examples of how God is moving among us. He’s healing people, He’s saving people and people are rededicating their lives to Christ. There was a 65-year-old man that one of my friends talked to and he said before this, he’s a pastor, and didn’t believe the Spirit could move like this.”

Testimonies have been pouring across social media washing away any doubt on the authenticity of the move of the Holy Spirit.

“He is breaking chains here. He is restoring love, relationships and making His presence known to the lost,” one student shared on stage.

In a TikTok video, one woman says, “To say I’m filled is an understatement. What I experienced is out of this world. Hundreds of youth coming out to worship God. That room gave me a glimpse of heaven.”

Between the 1970 revival and the current move of God right now, one thing has remained clear. The tangible, life-changing love of God has astounded all who have attended. An abundance of posts including a recent report from the student newspaper, “The Asbury Collegian,” have testified to the power of love in the room.

In their most recent revival update they wrote, “This weekend has shown a glimpse of what it looks like when we put aside our differences and come together to be in the presence of God. What can happen when the body of Christ is united in love and not divided by irrelevant things is beautiful.”

Pray that God would make a mark on this generation of believers. That students, faculty and all in attendance would be healed, restored and set on fire to carry the presence of God with them as they go. {eoa}
