Kamala Harris’ Niece Crusades for Critical Race Theory

Vice President Kamala Harris’ niece Meena Harris, is a staunch advocate of critical race theory. And, she says, if some public schools won’t teach it, alternatives must be provided so that parents can teach their children themselves.

But is that really the way God wants our children to be taught? Is it the way He wants future generations to think? Dr. Michael Brown says, CRT is potentially a way to separate us even further.

“We are in real danger of doing deep, lasting damage to the very fabric of our nation by making everything into an issue of race,” Brown says. “In fact, the more we blame every problem on race, the deeper our race problems will get. We will see things that are not there. We will misdiagnose the symptoms. We will overcompensate. We will make things worse.”

Yet Meena Harris is adamant that teaching CRT to our children is the direction to go.

In an article published in The Washington Post Monday, Meena Harris accused GOP state legislators in 28 states from barring educators from “discussing racism, equality and justice in classrooms,” and says “even the bluest states can’t escape the scourge of racism in America’s education system today.” Harris called conservatives’ efforts to halt critical race theory a “crusade” and that “white privilege” must be eliminated in this country.

“Public schools have long failed to acknowledge the history and realities of racism,” Harris says. “The recent right-wing crusade against “critical race theory“—a term so frightening its opponents dare not even learn what it means—is the latest manifestation of that deeply rooted trend. In the face of such daunting challenges, what are parents to do? Until and unless we see systemic change to properly desegregate our children’s schools and un-whitewash the curriculum, we need to fill the gaps ourselves.”

Meena Harris went on to say that America was “stolen” from indigenous people and founded by “white supremacists” and “built on the backs of enslaved people,” and that racism “shapes our society today.”

“Parents need to share narratives with their children that are historically accurate and anti-racist,” Harris says. “They need to tell stories that say what politicians are afraid to and what so many teachers can’t. Far more powerful than any attempt to erase history is a movement of conscientious families willing to face it head on.

“Public schools have long failed to acknowledge the history and realities of racism. In the face of such daunting challenges, what are parents to do? Until and unless we see systemic change to properly desegregate our children’s schools and un-whitewash the curriculum, we need to fill in the gaps ourselves.”

Some educators, like Jarvis Williams, a Black professor at Southern Baptist University, are already teaching critical race theory at the collegiate level. Williams is one of many who are influencing the next generations in America, but with a Christian spin on it, says Dr. Russell Fuller, a former professor at Southern Baptist University

Fuller says that, in a Christian context, what Williams is teaching to seminary students about CRT is completely false.

“Jarvis Williams basically teaches a critical race theory-infused gospel where he takes critical race theory principles and then takes the Bible and finds parallels and he creates his own racial reconciliation,” Fuller said in the documentary “Enemies Within the Church,” directed by Judd Saul. “That’s what he says, it’s part of the gospel. But it’s not. If your read what he actually says, it’s to do thing like ‘take down White Jesus’ and platform minorities.’ If you are white, you have to shut up and listen to other perspectives because you are not able to ascertain the truth the same way. He incorporates all of this into his racial reconciliation doctrine.”

In other words, Fuller says, CRT is based on theory and not facts. But Harris says parents should be teaching it at home.
