A Houston pastor’s testimony for Christ can now include a tale of the supernatural. Yolande Herron-Palmore, founder of a Christian counseling ministry called Restored Peace Ministries, survived a shot to the head last Thursday while she was getting her hair done in Minneapolis.

Police told abc13.com in Houston a man started shooting outside the beauty salon in Minneapolis and a bullet grazed the back of Herron-Palmore’s head. Her son, Joseph, told the news outlet that “the bullet nicked an artery, so doctors had to make sure there was no bleeding on his mom’s brain.”

“They can’t explain why the bullet decide to veer curve off,” Joseph said in the report. “The bullet blew her out of her seat and onto the floor where she lay flat. She said she thought she was gone for a minute until she was able to lift her head and she told herself, ‘Wow,’ that she was still here.”

KSTP.com in Minneapolis reported that the gunman fired several shots at around 3 p.m. Thursday that were intended for someone else.

Joseph said his mother had gone to get her hair done in a familiar place in a familiar area. His father sent him a photo of her in the hospital to post on social media and let friends and family know Yolande is “all right.” She was released from the hospital on Friday.

I know the path my mom has walked, her God path and her path as a pastor and teacher,” Joseph said. “And just knowing how anointed she is, there’s no other reason my mom is still here but because of God and him putting his hands of protection around her.”

Yolande Herron-Palmore was an associate pastor at Windsor Village United Methodist Church for nine years and co-founded Kainos Community Church in 1997.

“She knows she’s not supposed to be here,” Joseph told abc13.com. “This is the Lord’s doing. And she feels like there’s more for her story now. She has a definite story to tell now. She thought she had a testimony before. But she really has one now.” {eoa}
