God’s Hand Seen in Miracle of Baby Surviving Tornado

Baby who survived the tornado destruction in Tennessee

In a remarkable story of survival and faith, a Tennessee family experienced a tornado that tore through their home, leaving them with only the clothes on their backs. However, their 4-month-old baby miraculously survived the ordeal after being swept away by the storm and was found in a nearby tree.

On Dec. 16, the EF-3 tornado struck Montgomery County, Tennessee, leaving six people dead and more than two dozen injured. Sydney Moore, her boyfriend and their two children were inside their home when the tornado hit. The tornado destroyed their mobile home and belongings, but the family’s faith in God remained unshaken.

Recalling the terrifying event, Moore shared that something in her told her to protect her 1-year-old son by jumping on top of him. “The moment I jumped on him, the walls collapsed,” she said. Her boyfriend could see the tornado engulf their home before it was ripped apart. The baby’s bassinet was picked up by the tornado, and Moore’s boyfriend lunged to rescue the baby, getting thrown out of the home along with the infant.

Despite the chaos, the family managed to escape from the debris and search for their baby, fearing the worst. After about 10 minutes of searching, they found the baby alive in a tree that had fallen in the rain. “I thought he was dead,” Moore said. “I was pretty sure he was dead, and we weren’t going to find him. But he’s here, and that’s by the grace of God.”

Moore and her family were left with little to no personal belongings after the tragic incident, but the community has rallied to support the young couple and their children by providing them with formula, diapers and other necessities. The family is now searching for a new home, and a GoFundMe has been established by a family member to help them rebuild and buy necessary items for themselves and their children.

This incredible story of survival and community support reminds us of God’s grace and the power of faith. As the Bible says in Psalm 46:1-2, “God is our refuge and strength, a well-proven help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea” The Moore family’s experience is a testament to the power of God’s protection and the support of a loving community.{eoa}
