‘God Just Downloaded This Song Into Me’: An Anthem for Conservative Thinkers

There is a new anthem for conservatives of the black community—it is their announcement of freedom which is part of a growing movement.

In August, USA Today announced that the number of black Americans supporting President Trump had jumped to 36 percent.

That number continues to rise as this past weekend conservative activist, Candace Owens launched what she termed “Blexit.”

Blexit is a Renaissance,” Owens told Fox News, as she described the inspiration behind the campaign. “Blexit is the black exit from the Democratic Party. It’s the black exit from permanent victimhood, the black exit from the false idea that we are somehow separate from the rest of America.”

Also this past weekend a new song, the “Conservative Anthem for Free Thinkers” was introduced at President Trump’s rally this past weekend in Murphysboro, Illinois, where the president came to join with Representative Mike Bost, R-Illinois before the midterm elections.

The song tells a story.

Author and singer Janice Ponds is another black American who exited the Democrat party. When asked why she wrote the song, she explained:

I was raised in a Christian home, and like most in the black community, raised to vote a straight Democrat ticket—until one day I realized that what I believed biblically and what I voted politically didn’t align. I had to make a choice and determined that my skin color was not my identity. My belief in Christ was my true identity and where I chose to align. With that decision, I could no longer align with the Democrats’ platform, which was keeping us in slavery.

I was sitting in the airport earlier this year when I God just downloaded this song into me. I couldn’t get it out of my mind and so sat down to write it out and realized it was an anthem for all conservatives—all free thinkers—who want to get out of the bondage of the past.
