Destiny’s Child alumna Michelle Williams’ latest album is breaking ground and inspiring listeners to live bold and biblical lives.

Her fourth solo album, Journey to Freedom, addresses the star’s struggle fighting depression and how she sought the Lord.

“I’m still on the journey,” Williams tells the LA Times. “It’s a journey of leaving the past and moving forward and being free from anything that’s going to keep me from being my absolute best.”

Part of that journey is taking ownership of her life and breaking generational curses spoken over her.

“It can be tough knowing that YOU have to be the one to break the cycle. YOU can do it. Generational curses will be broken by YOU! Yep!” she tweeted yesterday.

Williams is known for her faith in the music scene, and Journey reveals her heart.

“I’ll pray about it and then I’ll sit still. I won’t move on anything, I’ll just wait,” She tells Essence of pursuing God in times of trouble. “He’ll always show me a sign … God does speak to everybody, He doesn’t leave anybody out! He shows us through however He needs to show us, sometimes we might not recognize it or we ignore it.”

Williams rewards Destiny’s Child fans hoping for a reunion with her song “Say Yes,” which features the rest of the trio, Beyoncé and Kelly Roland. The song boldly approaches the power of Jesus with these lyrics:

“When Jesus say Yes, nobody can say No

“I’m not worried ’bout a thing

“Cause I know You are guiding me

“Where You lead me, lord, I will go

“I have no fear cause I know who’s in control

“There’s no limit to what You can do

“Cause all belongs to You.”

Amen? Amen.
