It is said that the family that prays together stays together, but can it also work for a nation? United Cry DC16 says yes. United Cry DC16 is a nationwide call to pastors, Christian leaders, churches and individuals from all Christian streams, to pray for America on April 9, 2016, at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Diverse leaders adding their voices include George Wood, Ronnie Floyd, Anne Graham Lotz, Harry Jackson, Jim Garlow, Sammy Rodriguez and Doug Stringer. The seven-hour prayer gathering will ask God for forgiveness, blessing and spiritual awakening in America and declare the United States is, “One Nation, Under God.”

“America is in crisis. People are worried about their jobs, families, future, terrorism, racial conflict and the attacks on biblical values,” states Lewis Hogan, founder of United Cry DC16. “Only a united church can heal a divided America.”

The assembly will reflect on the anniversary date of April 9, 1865, which marked the end of the Civil War. This gathering will take place on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Continuing the tradition of prayer set by President Abraham Lincoln and the healing he prescribed for a divided country, one focus of United Cry DC16 will be repentance for racial division, led by the daughter and niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Drs. Bernice and Alveda King.

“We are gathering not to protest, but to pray, not coming to complain about policies or politics, but to lift up our leaders and cry out for God’s mercy and blessings upon the United States of America,” states Hogan. “There is hope for America, and we are contending for it.”

All Christian pastors, priests, leaders and believers are invited to join national Christian leaders to lift a United Cry together at this historic, multi-ethnic, multi–generational gathering on April 9th, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.
