Christian Culture, Kingdom Values Help Bring Baylor First National Championship

When Scott Drew took over as the Baylor University men’s basketball coach in 2003, he knew the team’s attitude needed to change. As a lifelong Christian, Drew wanted to implement his faith into his players and make sure they put Jesus first in their lives.

After Drew took over for Dave Bliss, who compiled a 14-14 record in his final season at Baylor in 2002-2003, Drew instilled a culture he called “JOY,” which stands for “Jesus, Others, Yourself.” Baylor is a Baptist University in Waco, Texas.

On Monday night, Drew and his players reaped the benefit of their faith and their hard work, giving Baylor its first national championship with an 86-70 victory over top-ranked Gonzaga and denying the Zags their first title and the first undefeated season by any men’s basketball team since Indiana in 1976.

How the Equality Act Will Threaten Pulse Survivors’ Ministries

One wonderful aspect of the growing Christian renewal we are seeing in America is that God is moving powerfully to redeem people involved in LGBTQ behaviors. Angel Colon grew up in the church but abandoned his faith and became involved in same-sex relationships. His drinking led to drugs and eventually extreme drug use.

In June 2016, he was drunk and high during the tragic Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando when a man opened fire, killing 49 people and wounding another 50. When the horrific event was over, doctors found that Colon had been shot six times. Yet, it was in this dark moment of evil that God miraculously protected, redeemed and restored Colon’s life!

Now, he travels widely sharing the story of Jesus’ healing power and invites others who are trapped in the LGBTQ lifestyle to experience freedom in Christ.

Why the Senate Should Reject Biden’s Choice for Deputy Secretary of State

Every Secretary of State has the critically important responsibility to serve as chief diplomat for the United States. The team that surrounds the secretary must be absolutely committed to this goal. While their duties include consideration of what a policy’s impact will be around the world, the secretary and his or her team must always put the interests of the United States first.

Unfortunately, the recent nomination of Wendy Sherman to serve as Deputy Secretary of State raises serious concerns. She has shown up numerous times in our FOIA lawsuits.

For example, her name appeared in emails showing her involvement in the Obama administration’s efforts to influence the Israeli elections against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. That was the same FOIA lawsuit where we uncovered that the “Obama State Departmenorities” would be upheld if she were confirmed. Sherman’s career is one marked with ideological devotion to two main causes: 1) abortion on demand and without limits, and 2) appeasement of the radical Iranian regime. {eoa}
