A survivor of the Boston Marathon bombing who lost both of his legs during the horrific terror attack sent a heartfelt message this week to survivors of Sunday night’s Las Vegas shooting, encouraging them to hold on to hope.

“To those who lost friends and loved ones—I’m so sorry,” Jeff Bauman wrote. “I know there are no words that can bring comfort, but please know that the world is behind you.”

The Boston bombing survivor, whose plight is the subject of the new film Stronger, starring actor Jake Gyllenhaal, also went on to address injured victims who are waking up in the hospital after the shooting and wondering how life will ever be the same again.
