While some 20-somethings were occupying Wall Street, protesting capitalism and financial success or even worse, still sitting in their parent’s basements watching reality TV shows, economic author Zac Bissonnette started on a quest that quickly became the title of his newest book.

In his latest book, How to Be Richer, Smarter and Better-Looking than Your Parents, the 23-year-old breaks the mold of the stereotypical post-college “Generation Y-er.”

Bissonnette urges graduates and young professionals to set the bar higher than their parents and turn the tide on generational debt. He shows his peers how to budget and make smart financial choices.

He also explains why it’s so important that young people recognize the manipulation behind television marketing, avoid taking cues from reality stars who spend more than they’re worth, and learn the true meaning of “enough.”

He offers fresh insights on everything from job hunting to buying a car to saving for retirement that will give you a foundation for a secure, stable and happy life.

Bissonnette talked about his latest debt-free financial advice on Wednesday’s The 700 Club. Click play to watch the interview.
