At first glance, there’s nothing out of the ordinary that would lead you to believe J.J. Vasquez is a fiery charismatic preacher who will have you laughing with one sentence and filled with conviction the next.
The Spirit-filled pastor of Journey Church Orlando has a congregation full of Millennials and members of generation Z. That’s what caught the attention of the Orlando Sentinel, the leading newspaper in central Florida. The catch? The church is just a few years old.
Though Vasquez wasn’t always a pastor, he has walked with the Lord for years. He was raised Spanish Pentecostal in New York. He attended Southeastern University.
And though his father was also a pastor, Vasquez says he had to reach his own “Jacob” moment where he wrestled with God and came to know the Lord in a new and intimate way.
Now, Vasquez shares his testimony, how he lost a son shortly after birth and how He found a sweet new connection with Jesus through intercession.
Listen for the story.
