What Every Single Christian Needs to Believe About Jesus

Share:

Pastor David Bryant beckons us to answer the same question Jesus asked His disciples: “Who do you say that I am?” Some said He was God, while others said He was just a good teacher. Our perception of who He is reflects who we are. It also affects how we share Him with others.

“Thinking about who He is right now, that’s sort of daunting at times, isn’t it? … John Stott wrote, ‘We have become puny Christians, because we’ve created for ourselves a puny Christ.’ … But where do we go to find such a Jesus? We ought to be on our faces before Him.”

If you struggle to describe who Jesus is to a friend or anyone at all, you’re not alone, Bryant says on the “Christ Today” podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network. Though many in the church wrestle with this, if you seek Jesus and desire to know more about Him, He will draw near to you.

“That’s really what the Christian life is all about. In the end, you see Jesus, and you see Him in all of His supremacy, and the greater that vision becomes for you, the more you have to say about Him to one another, to say about Him to unbelievers that you work with every day, to say about Him in your times of prayer, to say about Him in your times of worship. …

“In the end, it’s not just what you think of Christ, nor even what you say about Christ, but ultimately, it’s who you are in Christ.”
