Spirit-Filled Believers Prove There’s Nothing Christian About Westboro Baptist Church

When tragedy struck Orlando, global Christian leaders called for prayers via social media. Westboro Baptist? They attacked with words.

One of the church’s iconic slogans proclaims, “God hates (expletives).”

“God sent the shooter,” one sign read of Omar Mateen, who killed 49 people at Pulse, a gay nightclub.

Meanwhile, and overwhelmingly so, prominent Christian leaders expressed heartache, devastation and begged for prayers for the victims.

Prophetic voice Rick Joyner shared this on Facebook: “A couple of sermons also made the news as one pastor from Northern California said he was glad for the massacre and wished the shooter had finished the job. I could hardly think of a more antichrist message. I have real problems with the LGBT agenda, especially as it has threatened our freedom of speech and freedom of religion, but I pray to have the courage to risk my life to save any gay person if they were ever attacked in a place where I could do something about it. I would do this because our Savior has already laid down His life for them, and I pray that everyone of them comes to the knowledge of how much He loves them to have done this.”

Landon Schott, author of Gay Awareness and the founder of REV Ministries, conducted a prayer service via Facebook outside of Pulse.

As Schott watched the devastation unfold, “My heart was just broken, broken.”

Cindy Jacobs of General’s International broke down in tears as she shared her heart for the community.

“To the victims and families affected by this horrific atrocity in Florida, know that we are standing with you, we are grieving with you, and we love you. My heart breaks for each and every one of you,” Jacobs said.

But above all, most Christians from leaders to politicians to everyday believers, asked their friends and family to pray for Orlando.
