Shawn Bolz: Why It’s Crucial for Believers to Walk in the Prophetic

Share:

In a power-packed episode of Live Your Best Life With Liz Wright, Shawn Bolz joins Liz to speak about the vital importance for every Christian to walk in the prophetic.

Shawn believes, “We’re in a season where our life depends on our ability to connect with God out of intimacy and relationship with Him.” He reminds us that in 1 Corinthians 14:1, Paul encourages the church to “eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.”

Just as thousands were transformed at Pentecost when they heard their own languages speaking out the wonders of God, the supernatural utterances from our mouths change lives and the culture around us. Shawn shares that “this is one of the perpetual components of true revival: that God speaks to every one of His people, and we start to see transformation of culture occur.”

Shawn says that God as a Father is so jealous for connection in our hearts that often He will resist us getting prophetic revelation from someone else because He wants to give it to us Himself. Prophecy isn’t just for prophets or rare occasions. Hearing from God is meant to be our lifestyle.

Shawn encourages us to not go to God with a transactional attitude; looking to get needs met, but with a relational attitude that says, “Who are You?” because we are designed to know Him intimately. The same oneness that Jesus shares with the Father is our inheritance, a connection so intertwined that Jesus only said and did what He received from the Father.

As you spend time with God and create space for Him to speak to you, you’ll walk in a heightened sensitivity to His voice. Be blessed to go deeper in your friendship with God and hear Him for yourself.
