Ebony magazine reveals its annual “Power 100” list of the nation’s most influential African-Americans in the December/January issue hitting newsstands the week of Nov. 4. On the list are gospel artist Kirk Franklin, Bishop T.D. Jakes and Presiding Bishop-Elect Joseph Walker III.

“The Ebony Power 100 speaks volumes about the diversity of our accomplishments and the power of our collective influence across virtually every spectrum of society,” says Ebony Editor-in-Chief Amy DuBois Barnett. “We are thrilled to honor these exceptionally talented people who have inspired and enthralled us and who have helped to shape our lives.”

Franklin’s albums consistently top Billboard‘s gospel and Christian charts while landing in the Top 10 of the R&B/hip hop chart. He is also a New York Times best-selling author and the host and executive producer of the gospel talent show Sunday Best, the highest-rated gospel program in BET network history.

New York Times best-selling author Jakes is founder and senior pastor of the Potter’s House in Dallas, which has more than 30,000 members. Time magazine and CNN referred to him as “America’s Best Preacher.” His TV program, The Potter’s Touch, reaches 67 million households per month.

Walker was elected as the next presiding bishop of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, a fellowship of 2,000 churches and 2 million members. He is author of eight books, including Becoming a Couple of Destiny (Abingdon Press). Walker also serves as bishop of senior pastors within the fellowship.

The second annual “Ebony Power 100″ gala will be held at New York City’s Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall on Nov. 4.
