John Eckhardt Warns of Harassing Demons That Attract an Onslaught

Apostle John Eckhardt believes that rejection is a bigger problem than most Christians realize. He calls rejection—the subject of his latest book—a “major, undiagnosed, untreated problem in the body of Christ.”

The apostle, who oversees Chicago-based Crusaders Ministries, drew a full house to Charisma Media for a special ticketed event Tuesday evening celebrating the launch of his latest book, Destroying the Spirit of Rejection: Receive Love and Acceptance and Find Healing. The event was also available for viewing live and is now posted on Facebook.

“We had a great event with apostle Eckhardt. Our social media impact has been very strong, we had several hundred shares of the broadcast, tens of thousands of views and over 100,000 people reached,” says Marcos Perez, Charisma House’s senior vice president of sales and marketing. “But beyond the numbers—lives were impacted and ministered to both here at our event, and on social media. It was a blessing to see the ministry that took place through the launch event for Destroying the Spirit of Rejection.”

The popular author spoke of rejection as “one of the most common demons” that is a “doorkeeper for a lot of other things that come in.” Referencing John the Baptist who spoke of putting an ax to the root of the tree, Eckhardt cited rejection as the root case of schizophrenia and a double-minded personality.

In dealing with mental illness, he said, “We’re medicating demons and not casting them out.” Instead, he believes the answer is deliverance, not medication.

The “major, major stronghold” of rejection also “opens the door for rebellion,” the apostle told the gathering. Sometimes rejection can take root at an early age, even in the womb, or come about through authority figures such as parents or pastors. At other times, though, individuals themselves can invite rejection.

“Sometimes we can do things that cause people to reject us,” he said. “We can actually live a lifestyle that causes people to reject us.”

Although all Christians need to understand the realm of the spirit and not be “ignorant of Satan’s devices,” he believes that pastors must be careful to teach on this subject.

“We need to have more knowledge, especially in the pulpits,” he said.

As a leader in the church, Eckhardt has prayed for thousands who have been bound by the spirit of rejection. He has seen other spirits come into their lives as well, spirits of fear, paranoia, anger and many more. At the end of the evening, he prayed against spirits of lust, confusion, religion and more that join with rejection to torment the soul.

“Demons tend to work in clusters,” he said, noting that they can “vex” or “mob” a person.

Eckhardt says there are too many people living in their past.

“They can’t get over it,” he said. “Every time they try something comes up again.”

But there is hope.

“You just don’t say I’m over it. You actually get healed,” he said, adding, “Forgiveness is one of the keys to deliverance.”

Concluding the event in prayer, he asked everyone to say out loud, “I command these spirits to leave.” He also asked them to place a hand on their forehead, breaking the powers of hell over the mind so they could “think clearly, think correctly” and so the mind would “free and restored.”
