How the Power of Prayer Dissolved a Monstrous Storm

Pastors LaJun and Valora Cole say that despite what the news and our individual circumstances look like, God is faithful—even if we’re bankrupt or sick. God may not provide what we want, but He certainly provides what we need. He proved this in the Coles’ life by protecting them from a dangerous storm.

“I remember even when God provided protection for us, when one of the largest storms came through Tampa [Florida], and we began to just pray—even as Philippians 4:6 says,” LaJun says. “So the storm came over; the eye of the storm passed right over our house. When the weatherman reported on it the next day, he said that someone must have been praying in Tampa because the storm died in Tampa.

“It destroyed a lot of things and a lot of places. But we were up at midnight praying, and we were believing God, that God would protect us and that God would provide for those families, for the homeless and for everybody in our city. And I tell you, God did just what He said He was going to do.”

So, when trials come, are you quick to become anxious or do you run to prayer? It’s important to realize that because God isn’t bound by time, He’s already seen the end and has our best interest in mind, the Coles remind listeners on the Prophetic Moments podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network.

“Sometimes within ourselves, humanity will become anxious based on what we see, based on the situation itself,” Valora says. “But God Himself is never moved by our situation. He’s already declared the end from the beginning. He knows what’s going to happen. And so we have to trust in Him and not view things from our own perspective, but through the eyes of God.”
