Through the power of his voice and his message, T.D. Jakes pulled CNN’s Don Lemon out of a crisis years ago.
The catch?
“It might sound strange, maybe even impossible, but the person who changed my life is someone I’d never even met,” Lemon says. “… I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t heard his words.”
Now, Lemon says, Jakes is the voice in his head.
In an interview, Lemon tells Jakes just how valuable the pastor is to the anchor, much to Jakes’ surprise.
“When I got the letter that you could have picked anybody as a hero, as a mentor, I thought it was a joke,” Jakes says with wide eyes. “But what I am so grateful for is that I could say anything that made anyone’s life better.”
